Joining Roblox on the 22nd of January, 2015, Mike took an instant liking to roleplay. During his tenure on the game, he was the District Superintendent for Pinecrest Independent School District, the Senior Pastor for Faith Church International, and the founder and overseer for Mighty Marching Lighting.
Among the many Roleplay Characters he played during his time here, one that is of note was that of Dr. Mike Q. Garner. A visionary educator, spiritual shepherd, and cultural trailblazer whose influence shaped generations across faith, education, and the arts. Born to Dr. Eric D. Garner and Jenni Hunter, Mike was raised in a devout Christian household rooted in service and leadership. His father, a respected preacher and ecclesiastical leader in the Church of God in Christ, instilled in him the values that would guide his life’s work. Dr. Garner pursued his passion for music and teaching early on, earning a Bachelor’s in Music Education and a Master’s in Teaching from Madison University. He later completed his Doctorate in Teaching at Bloxton University. His career began in the classroom, but his impact quickly expanded. As District Superintendent of Pinecrest Independent School District, he led a thriving educational community of over 19,000 staff, faculty, and students, fostering academic excellence and inclusive innovation across every campus. Alongside his work in education, Dr. Garner served as the Senior Pastor of Faith Church International, a powerful ministry that grew under his leadership to a congregation of over 35,000. A prominent figure in the Ro-Church community, he nurtured spiritual growth, unity, and outreach through his bold yet compassionate leadership. He also served as an Administrative Assistant within the Church of God in Christ, following in the footsteps of his father.
One of his most beloved legacies is The Mighty Marching Lightning Band, a 100-member ensemble with over 3,000 group members that he founded and oversaw. As a founding father of the Ro-Band Community, Dr. Garner revolutionized virtual marching band culture, establishing a standard of excellence and creativity that remains unmatched. The band became a model for others, inspiring countless directors and young performers nationwide. Dr. Garner retired from all positions before his passing, leaving behind a legacy rich in faith, education, and culture.
